Dr. Ruth Dupont is a highly skilled physician who brings extensive knowledge and experience to Meliora Healthcare. With fellowship training in Metabolic and Nutritional Medicine, Dr. Dupont specializes in the management of hormonal disorders, including thyroid and adrenal disease, diabetes, and hormone replacement therapy for both men and women.
Dr. Dupont’s academic journey began at Indiana University, Bloomington, where she earned a double major in Biological Sciences and Psychology. She then pursued her medical degree at Indiana University School of Medicine. Following her education, she completed her internship at St. Vincent Hospital and went on to finish her Family Medicine residency there, serving as Chief Resident—a role that honed her leadership and clinical skills.
Early in her career, Dr. Dupont made groundbreaking contributions to medical research. Collaborating with Dr. Jere Guin, MD, she was the first to demonstrate that topical prescription medications could penetrate intact skin and reach therapeutic levels. This innovative research, published in The Medical Letter and various dermatologic journals, has had lasting impacts on the use of topicals in treating hormonal disorders, infections, and pain.
In 2008, driven by a desire to help her patients achieve optimal health, Dr. Dupont pursued additional training in integrative medicine. This fellowship allowed her to explore and address the root causes of illness, enhancing her ability to guide patients toward true wellness.
Dr. Dupont is deeply connected to the Naples community, where she has built lasting relationships with patients and their families. She is profoundly grateful for the trust and loyalty her patients have shown her over the years, and she looks forward to continuing to serve the community with the compassionate care she is known for.
