Dr. Vishal Patel is a board-certified critical care doctor in Naples, FL, currently practicing at Meliora Healthcare. Specializing in Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine, Dr. Patel has a particular interest in lung nodules, the diagnosing and staging of lung cancer, pleural diseases, interstitial lung diseases, obstructive airway diseases, and bronchiectasis. Dr. Patel’s Education and Training

Born and raised in New Jersey, Dr. Patel obtained his medical degree in 2006 from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. Thereafter, he completed his residency training in Internal Medicine in 2009. He then furthered his training by completing a fellowship in Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine in 2012, both at Mt. Sinai Morningside and West in New York City. Dr. Patel has earned his board certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine and is licensed to practice medicine in Florida.

Contributions to His Fields

Throughout his impressive career, Dr. Patel has made it a priority to contribute to the fields of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine and Graduate Medical Education. For example, he spearheaded the establishment of the ACGME-accredited Pulmonary & Critical Care fellowship training program at Naples Community Hospital in 2022 and served as it’s inaugural Program Director. He had also served as teaching faculty for the Internal Medicine residency at NCH since 2016. Additionally, Dr. Patel has been involved in the development of several training and research protocols and has published numerous papers in several academic journals. He served on the Zero-Harm Task Force for NCH as well as the NPG Quality Committee. In 2023, Dr. Patel was a nominee for the Naples Community Hospital Physician of the Year.
